Doll depicts royal wedding dress

Prince William and Princess Catherine wedding dolls
The dolls have been developed in line with guidelines from Clarence House A doll called Princess Catherine - and wearing a mini replica of the year's most famous wedding dress - has been unveiled.

Maker Arklu showed off the doll - along with another of Prince William, depicted in his wedding outfit, at Hamleys toy store in London.

The company had produced a Catherine Engagement Doll before the big day and has worked on the update since.

And although the royal couple vowed to be together "till death us do part", the Catherine doll can be bought separately.

A donation of £1 from every purchase goes to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Renowned designers and artists have contributed to the Catherine doll on details including the tiara, engagement ring, shoes, make-up, bridal bouquet and "something blue" knickers.

'Reasonable' likenesses

"These are just the sort of products you'd expect to appear after a big royal wedding," said Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine.

"They're harmless enough, the likenesses are reasonably good, they seem well made - hence the price - and they will appeal to the north American market in particular.

"But there is no such person as 'Princess Catherine', just as there never was a 'Princess Diana'," he added.

Because she is not of royal blood, she has become Princess William, Duchess of Cambridge - rather than Princess Catherine.

"However, we shouldn't get too sniffy about this," Mr Little said. "We'll be reading about Princess Catherine or Kate Middleton in newspapers for many years to come."

The BBC News website could not get to the bottom of rumours of a planned Pippa Middleton doll.

Here comes the reality-TV-star bride, all dressed in white.

In just five days, guests will be singing that tune when Kim Kardashian says "I do" to Kris Humphries in her fairy-tale wedding.

But what will the bride wear?!

Though the secret isn't as closely guarded as Kate Middleton's gown—after all, Kim did dish to E! News that Vera Wang will design her frock —she has stayed mum on any other details.

So let's talk about which style and shape would suit the future Mrs. Humphries best.

Kim would look sleek and chic in a slimming column gown, like the one on the far left. She's rocked this style before on a few red carpets to stunning success, so it's pretty much a guaranteed winner. Plus, keeping the gown simple means all the attention goes to the bride's lovely face.

Or the 30-year-old star could opt for dramatic bride in this formfitting mermaid gown that would really flaunt those famous curves. Little sister Khloé Kardashian Odom wore this style for her own nuptials last year, and you know how those Kardashians love to mix and match their clothes...

But what if Kimmy bucks tradition and goes for a short cocktail number instead? Doubtful this classic star will go that route, but you never know if this Kardashian will throw a kurveball on her wedding day.

It's more likely Kim would go all-out fairy-tale princess in a big ballgown rather than wear a short dress, though. Hey, it's her only chance to look like royalty on her big day, but would it fit her petite frame?

Check out all of these Vera Wang bridal styles and then vote for your favorite!
